MORE
THAN $60 MILLION
IN RESORT DEVELOPMENTS
AND REAL ESTATE
PROJECTS MOVING
FORWARD AT KIMBERLEY
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 16, 2004
Kimberley,
British Columbia – Resort
homes and accommodations
are on the rise
this summer at Kimberley
Alpine Resort. With
new units from Sullivan
Stone, North Star
Mountain Village
and Kimberley Ridge
all coming online,
there are over 70
new units for the
2004/2005 winter
season to provide
guests with an increased
variety of vacation
and investment opportunities.
Mountain community
living is also thriving
with the construction
of numerous new
homes and cabins
in and around the
resort this summer.
But that’s
not all! The Resort
itself will see
some dramatic changes
with over $1.5million
being invested by
Resorts of the Canadian
Rockies Inc. for
the upcoming winter
season. The Polaris
Lodge will be the
hub of activity
with Stemwinder’s
Pub seeing an expansion
to a full service
bar and restaurant.
Pending approval
from all regulatory
bodies, the redesigned
facility will seat
250 guests inside
with an additional
100 seats under
a heated, covered
balcony and a drastically
enlarged patio to
enjoy a BBQ burger
and beverage under
the ample Kimberley
winter sun. The
Polaris cafeteria,
located on the lower
level of the Polaris
Lodge, will gain
more seats when
the Mountain Edge
Retail store moves
into it’s
sparkling new, log
cabin home in the
plaza between the
Polaris Lodge and
the award winning
Kelsey’s Neighborhood
Bar and Grill.
In addition to the
facility upgrades,
Kimberley Alpine
Resort will be continuing
with its beautification
and infrastructure
development program.
Plans include widening
and finishing of
the Home Run skier
bridge, development
of pedestrian walking
trails in the village
area and the purchase
of a significant
tract of property
located behind the
base area plaza.
After sampling it’s
capabilities in
January 2004, the
Resort will be taking
the keys to a Bombardier
Winch Cat to continue
to provide more
consistent on-hill
snow surfaces, for
which Kimberley
has been consistently
recognized for.
“Our commitment
is to continue positive
steps in creation
of the lifestyle
mountain destination
of choice for friends
and family” says
Matt Mosteller,
Senior Director
of Business Development
for Resorts of the
Canadian Rockies
Inc. “There
is no better place
to relax, ski ,
ride or golf, and
enjoy a wonderful
and friendly community” added
Mosteller. “This
mountain village
has the ingredients
for success combining
world class golf
with ski in and
ski out convenience.”
To acknowledge the
importance that
the resort and it’s
facilities have
played in the community
over the years,
plans are currently
underway to host
a community celebration
at the North Star
Centre on September
10th, before it
is dismantled later
that month. Stay
tuned for more details
to be coming out
shortly.
